Noetic Book

This season is traditionally a time we stop and give thanks for the blessings in our lives: for the people we love, for the challenges that have deepened us, for a gesture of kindness, for the mysteries of life. With this email we want to thank you for being part of the community of the Institute of Noetic Sciences and for what you do to make the world a better place.

We invite you to share an activity that you have found helps connect you with your family, your community, yourself, or the earth, and to remember things that inspire gratitude. Do you have a traditional activity that your family does on Thanksgiving that you would like to offer for others to try? Do you have a way you gather with friends that helps you connect and give thanks? If you do, please email it to editor@noetic.org. We'll pick one idea to share with everyone on our email list on November 28th.

But wait—before you send us your suggestion, please take a moment to check out the other news in this email!

If you're in the SF Bay area on December 15th, please join us for a Holiday Open House at EarthRise from 2 to 5 p.m. You can find details at the end of this email.

Beyond Neuroscience: The Challenge of Yoga
EdgeScience Magazine – NEW ARTICLE

This month's edition of EdgeScience pairs a short excerpt from Dean Radin's book, Supernormal, with an in-depth article by Donald DeGracia about how yoga contributes to our understanding of what's known as "the mind-body problem"—or the link between our subjective and objective natures—and what we can know about the nature of reality. Dr. Radin writes about what the future may hold for the integration of science and ancient contemplative practices like yoga, and why it matters.

Researchers Past and Present Unravel the Mystery of Miracles
The Washington Times – NEW ARTICLE

Consciousness and health columnist Eric Nelson published an article on Dr. Radin's work last month in The Washington Times. Within the context of three decades of research, Nelson outlines how phenomena we once considered supernatural might now be seen as completely natural. The article addresses the question of whether existence is essentially matter-based or mind-based, suggesting that so-called "miracles" might be better understood from a different perspective.

On the Road with IONS Worldview Explorations™ (WE)

IONS Executive Director of Education Katia Petersen has been busy taking Worldview Explorations on the road, inspiring others and partnering with organizations interested in consciousness-based education. She recently gave a keynote presentation and two participatory workshops at CCI Greenheart, an international high school exchange program developing platforms for cross-cultural communication. According to one of the program organizers: "The room was buzzing with positive energy and inspiration," and CCI attendees "were eager to get back home and start doing these same activities with the young, future leaders of our world."
