Check Your Nonprofit's ePostcard & IRS Revocation Status
The National Center for Charitable Statistics, the Nonprofit Quarterly and the National Council of Nonprofits have created a website where Florida's nonprofits can check their ePostcard and IRS revocation status.

Proposed Federal Bill to Focus on the Needs of Nonprofits
According to the Nonprofit Quarterly, Congresswoman Betty McCollum (D-MN) introduced the Nonprofit Sector and Community Solutions Act as H.R. 5533 on Tuesday, June 15, and announced it on the Hill Wednesday. The Bill would create one forum which pays attention to the issues and interests of nonprofits. Read the full article.

Cause Marketing Luncheon on June 16 Big Success
On June 16, 2010 the Philanthropy Center co-sponsored a luncheon on Cause Marketing with the American Marketing Association's (AMA) Central Florida chapter. Panel members Pam Landwirth from Give Kids the World and Deborah Rios-Barnes from the Orlando Magic shared stories about their cause marketing efforts with nearly 100 local nonprofit and for-profit professionals. Mini-MBA Scholarship Application Deadline: July 16, 2010
Offered through Rollins Management & Executive Education at the Roy E. Crummer Graduate School of Business, the Crummer Management Certificate Program provides a fast and comprehensive way to update your management skills. This 18-week Mini-MBA™ provides solid grounding in current business theory and practices that today's professionals need to succeed. The Philanthropy Center offers a limited number of scholarships to paid staff of 501c3 organizations that are members of the Philanthropy Center. Employers Association of Florida (EAF) Training

Call for Nominations: National Philanthropy Day Awards
This year's National Philanthropy Day Awards will take place on Friday, November 12 at the prestigious Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes. Each year, the Central Florida Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals honors donors, volunteers and professionals whose gifts of time, expertise and resources contribute significantly to the quality of life in our communities. Grassroots Organizations Fighting Hunger Funded
The Harry Chapin Self-Reliance Awards program, administered by WhyHunger, provides grants to community-based organizations judged outstanding for their innovative approaches to fighting hunger and poverty in the United States by empowering people and building self-reliance. The awards honor those organizations that help people improve their own lives and the communities in which they live. In this grant cycle, ten organizations will receive awards of up to $7,000. Grants Enhance the Dissemination of Programs Benefitting Youth
The mission of the American Legion Child Welfare Foundation is to provide nonprofit organizations with a means to educate the public about the needs of children across the United States. The Foundation supports organizations that contribute to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual welfare of children through the dissemination of knowledge about new and innovative programs designed to benefit youth, or through the dissemination of knowledge already possessed by well-established organizations. Grants to Improve Physical Education for K-12 Students
The Carol M. White Physical Education Program (PEP) provides grants to local educational agencies (LEAs) and community-based organizations (CBOs) to initiate, expand, and improve physical education for students in grades K–12. Grant recipients must implement programs that help students make progress toward meeting state standards. For more information refer to the Federal Register.
