Franklin Method class every Wednesday at 10:30am at Dance New Amsterdam
Conditioning for Dance Through Franklin Method Class will teach conditioning and proper body mechanics essential to having a long, healthy dance career.
Each week we will learn ways to become an expert at imagery and apply these skills to undertanding and embodying different body parts to become safer and more efficient. Therabands, balls and other props will be used to guide us in imagery and help us release as well as strengthen our bodies.

Join me for a day of Franklin Method introducing the concepts of how to create change and embody healthy, efficient movement in the body. We will be focussing on the pelvis and shoulders.
|
Pelvis:
We will look at the correct anatomy and biomechanics of the pelvis and the pelvic floor. We will experience how the pelvic joints and pelvic floor coordinate to create efficient and safe movement. Improved usage means better posture and relief for the lower back. Finally we will practice how to integrate it into daily life, sitting, standing, walking and moving.
|
Shoulders:
Llearn how to: use imagery that melts away shoulder and neck tension; lengthen and balance your shoulder and neck musculature with touch and movement exercises; release rigid holding patterns in your upper body by activating your pelvic floor foundation; exercise with small rolling balls to experience smooth joint action, increased circulation and balanced posture; and ultimately melt away your tension and anxiety.
